Return to Asbury

Return to Asbury.

Starting in the 1940s, Armenian-Americans up and down the East Coast gathered every summer weekend in the seaside town of Asbury Park, New Jersey.

They would spend all day on the beach — and then at night socialize and dance to Armenian music in bars, halls, and hotels all around the city.

But this tradition died out in the 1970s.

Return to Asbury tells the story of what happened when we brought it back. And asks if it's possible to recapture the past.

Currently in post-production.
